About the Event

After the holidays come to an end and we have given all that we can to loved ones, we need to give back to ourselves. Take time and enjoy a 3 hour R&R “Moksha” retreat. You deserve it!

This Sadhana (practice) will allow you to step fully in your body and leave feeling restored, with more compassion and power. The journey will help you break through barriers and physical restrictions that may lead to dis-ease.

Join us as we balance the deeper understanding of ourselves. Be pampered and allowed to shift your perspective as all 5 koshas (senses) are called upon with this retreat. We begin with IPATH (Integral Postural Alignment Techniques) Restorative Yoga using yoga blocks and bolsters to support the body, encouraging the release of soft tissues that hold stress. You will explore and feel your body drop towards the earth into complete release. The transformation will be complimented with a healing vibrational sound bath that harmonizes well with the frequencies of the body using the power of sound for deeper healing. You’ll bathe in the sounds of Crystal Bowls, Himalayan Bowls, tuning forks, drums, and other vibrational instruments. Waves of this sound bath will wash away tension to nourish your body, just in time for a new beginning. Moksha will be achieved- enlightenment, liberation, and release.

To ensure the safety of those wanting to attend in-person, in studio space will be limited. Participants can join virtually and will need 2-3 yoga blocks, 1 bath towel, 1 bolster or dense pillow, yoga blanket, warm comfy clothes, a yoga mat, your favorite essential oil or scented candle, and eye pillow or folded hand towel. We highly recommend our favorite Savasana Ritual Mist Spray (this can be available to those attending virtually by contacting Denese).

Meet Your Facilitators:

This will be a humbling homecoming for Denese and Satayam. A call back, from their youth, in Upper Marlboro over 40 annual sun cycles ago! Yoga reunited them, and they collaborate on many workshops and retreats together in the DC area. Excited to share their passion for yoga with the Spiritual Essence Yoga community. Learn more about your hosts below.

Denese Cavanaugh

Denese Cavanaugh ERTY500/CPT/YACEP/Kripalu Yoga Therapy Enrolled International yoga teacher and presenter. Founded IPATH Restorative Yoga in 2011.

Denese Cavanaugh ERYT500/CPT/YACEP (IAYT Kripalu enrolled), developed this passive, yet effective alignment practice out of necessity. After many years, her students have come to rely on this unique sequence that begins with the heart opener, at the 4thChakra which ironically controls contentment, ease, and stability in the body. Denese is a presenter and teaches internationally as a continuing education provider. Meet her at https://www.denesecavanaugh.com/
