Denese Cavanaugh, ERYT500/C-IAYT/YACEP/Presenter, is a Yoga Therapist, educator, and founder of the Integral Postural Alignment Techniques, known as The IPATH® Method. She began her yoga journey in 1996 in New York City, in various styles such as Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary Series, Iyengar, Vinyasa Flow, Power Yoga, Restorative, Prenatal, and Kids Yoga. Denese aims to transform perceptions of mental and physical health by highlighting the connections between yoga, psychology, and health. Her passion for mentoring and improving posture led to the creation of The IPATH® Method in 2012 which focuses on pain care through interoceptive and proprioceptive techniques. She encourages students to connect mind, body and spirit, while fostering renewal and expansion. The program now includes a 200 and 300-hour Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training curriculum along with her  75-hour IPATH Restorative Yoga curriculum. Denese was voted " Yoga Teacher" by the Washington City Paper in 2014 and 2015 and has participated in events and private sessions for notable figures, including First Lady Michelle Obama. She is grateful to her teachers for their wisdom and is dedicated to sharing that foundation with her students and community, empowering them through engaging and accessible practices that promote joy, balance, and connection in their lives.
